Ciprina hadn't been expecting to meet with another decorated celebrity so soon after her meeting with Melody Miro. But she wasn't exactly complaining either. Whatever this was about, if she played her cards right this would spell good for her and her family if she secured a friendship, better yet a partnership. [break][break]

Ciprina paused her fluttering around her home to sigh. That was just like her mother to be looking forward to the profits of a friendship. Was she surprised though? Absolutely not, her mother had raised her to be like this after all. To cease every opportunity before her to further elevate their family name. [break][break]

She was starting to get a headache just thinking about it. "Marnie?" Ciprina called for her manager who was filling in as her assistant for today. "Yes, princess?" Marnie didn't pause her running around to answer her but humored her with a light tease nonetheless. "Haah," Rina sighed again, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Did the chef arrive yet? I know they were running late."[break][break]

Marnie's voice was distant as she was still rushing to get everything ready for their guest's arrival. "Yes, they arrived just a few minutes ago. They're settling in. Luckily a lot of the prep work for the hors d’oeuvres was already done prior to their arrival." That was good. One less thing Ciprina needed to worry about then. [break][break]

Despite how often she'd hosted social gatherings of her own or for her family back home in Sinnoh, this time she found herself nervous and pressed for time. Perhaps it was the suddenness of everything. She was a bit of a perfectionist in the sense that she would've rathered ample time to prepare something suitable to both her name and the tastes of her guest. [break][break]

But that was just life. She couldn't have everything she wanted. Though she was usually close despite that fact. Ciprina headed to the mirror on the wall nearby and checked her appearance one more while she waited to be alerted of Callan Young's arrival to her little humble abode.

The mansion was huge. A Slateport kid like himself was not used to abodes within the suburbs to be so large or so well decorated with orchards.

Callan rmeidns himself that he too, was one of them now. Still, he felt he'd never be accustomed to the luxury of the upper class. The black SUV arrives past the gates of Ciprina's home, after Callan briefly rolls down the window and explains who they were, his driver moves to the main house.

This would be the first time he'd meet Ciprina, but everyone knew who she was. A highly successful actress, being able to sign her onto the Record was a stroke of pure luck. Child of the legendary Fisk family, well connected into the movie and entertainment industry.

Callan steps out the SUV, his suitcase packed with all his essentials, he turns towards Mandy his secretary. "The contract?" He asks, "Right here sir."

"You're the best." Mandy smirks, "I know, what would you do without me?" The SUV drives off as Callan receives a text pinging him the car would return in an hour and a half.

Callan regretted that he no longer smoked, it would have been good to have the nicotine ease his mind before he entered. He moves towards the front door, pressing the doorbell to the Fisk heiress' abode. "Callan Young, here to see Miss Fisk." He speaks into the intercom.

"Welcome Mr. Young," the crackled voice of a man over the buzzer sounded before the door was opened by woman moment's later. The woman looked like a staff member who bowed slightly in greeting before stepping aside and ushering him in. "We've been expecting you Mr. Young." she said with an easy smile. "I hope you didn't have any troubles on your way here." she continued smoothly. [break][break]

"If you would follow me, Miss Fisk will join us in a second." the woman replied as she lead Callan to one of the seating areas away from the hustle and bustle of the staff. Meanwhile Ciprina was in the back kitchen checking over the hors d’oeuvres one last time before she was informed that Callan had arrived. [break][break]

Nodding Ciprina quickly made her way towards the sitting area so she could greet her guest. "Mr. Young, nice to meet you. I hope you weren't waiting long." Ciprina greeted with a warm smile. She offered her hand to him for a handshake as she introduced herself. "I'm Ciprina Fisk. Feel free to call me Rina though if that's easier." she said with a soft chuckle.[break][break]

"Can I get you anything? Something to drink or snack on maybe?" She said as she directed him to a nearby area with a spread she had prepared for him. Across the counters were countless trays of hors d’oeuvres available for him to pick and choose from. Cranberry-fig gogoat cheese crostini's, crumb-topped clamperl shells, and even rustic paldean pepper bruschetta. Drink options ranged from champagne, and non-alcoholic cocktails, sparkling water, and refreshers like lemonade and sweet tea. [break][break]

"I wasn't sure what you would be in the mood for so I prepared a bit of everything, I hope you don't mind." Rina replied with a sheepish laugh. "Oh and I hope you don't have any allergies to anything. If so, feel free to tell the staff and they'll remove the items right away."

"Miss Fisk, hi." Callan flashes a pearly smile, accepting the handshake with a firm grasp. "Rina it is, call me Callan, or Cal if you'd like."

He follows the famed actress across her palatial estate. While he himself lived in a comfortably modern condo, Callan nevertheless felt out of place living in luxury, and it had kept with him for twenty years. Regardless the internal decor of the place eventually gave way to what appeared to be a full luxury spread of haute cuisine hors-d'œuvres.

"Arceus..." Callan paused, as he walks over to gently pick up a bite-sized cheese crostini. He takes the entire bite into his mouth and eats. It was delicious, and he reminds himself not to speak while chewing.

He swallows first, taking a napkin and dabbing the side of his lips. "That was better than most meals I've ever had in my lifetime." Callan chuckled, "No allergies, I'm just happy to have this kind of food. Sometimes it's hard to see myself past being a Mauville rat." He takes a stuffed Clamperl shell and digs into it. It's fresh, and the taste of the sea is delicately mild, instead of Slateport-oil.

"This is delicious, thank you so much Rina." He'd definitely have a few more bites, but hopefully he'd be able to pack some of it for his company to try out. He takes a moment to absorb the surroundings. Marble, gold, whitewoods. It was likely that the actress had lived in such incredible wealth her entire life.

"I suppose, now would be a good time for me to tell you why I asked to be here."

Callan's eyes turn towards Rina's, his ruby ones hold her gaze with an attentive amusement. "I know from our mutual friend Melody your contract may be finishing soon." Callan pauses, "I would like to give you a proposal, would you mind giving me the opportunity to pitch it to you?"

Ciprina watched expectantly as Callan began to try the spread she'd prepared for him. However as soon as he had taken a bite she knew she'd done a good job. She'd have to give the chef and his staff a tip after this. "That was better than most meals I've ever had in my lifetime." Ciprina laughed before reaching out to try one of the bruschetta's. She quickly popped the pepper in her mouth, grabbing a napkin to cover it while she chewed. He was right, it really was good. [break][break]

"Mmm, yeah. That's definitely really good." she said before nodding towards the food. "Have as much as you'd like. I can always have more prepared if there's not enough too." After a few more bites it seemed Callan was ready to get down to business. "I suppose, now would be a good time for me to tell you why I asked to be here."[break][break]

Rina smiled and nodded. "Sounds good, make yourself comfortable." she said as she gestured to a table nearby the counter they were standing next to. "I know from our mutual friend Melody your contract may be finishing soon." Rina's face didn't convey any surprise. The perks of being an actress. "I would like to give you a proposal, would you mind giving me the opportunity to pitch it to you?"[break][break]

This was fast work, but she felt quite satisfied that things were falling into place nicely. She'd have something to report to her mother finally. And while she might not get much of congratulations from her mother at least it won't be disappointment. It would seem after all these years Ciprina still hadn't lost her touch. Making a connection with Melody had already proven worthwhile.[break][break]

"You've heard correctly then," she says with a soft chuckle. "You have the floor, Callan."

The focus required in preparing a meal for someone who just so happened to visit was powerful. As Callan ate the bruschetta, he became keenly aware of the breadcrumbs on his tongue and the taste of the delicious Gogoat cheese.

It was strange - even as he became wealthier over the years, he never felt truly rich. He was an impostor dressed in a rich man's clothes, a Mauville thug masquerading as something more.

He still ate cup noodles and microwaved meals daily, slept fitfully on the couch when exhaustion overtook him. When he woke, it was to a cup of joe from the local Evergrande diner or, more likely, yesterday's dregs of stale coffee that needed finishing.

These days, things were slightly better since hiring Mandy and her team, yet he still had nights where he felt so out of place.

This was true wealth, Callan thought - the ability to make a meal for a guest on a whim, simply because it was hospitable. Keeping a friend or acquaintance fed in one's home was what a proper host did, regardless of intent. He felt that deeply, and it translated to gratitude.

Callan finished the bruschetta and washed it down with champagne. The bubbly effervescence and decadent floral notes indicated this was no Slateport swill. Semi-dry, with hints of vanilla, cinnamon, black pepper, apricot - he tasted it on his tongue like a veteran connoisseur and gently placed the glass on the coaster. He dabbed his mouth of crumbs and nodded as Ciprina gave the go-ahead.

"Before I begin, I just wanted to say thank you for hosting me," Callan started. "It's a nice change of pace from corporate executives and media." His thumb gently traced his thigh as he turned from the champagne back to Rina.

"What I'm about to propose may be a terrible offer." His thumb and forefinger tapped together lightly.

"I run a music and media startup called Teravolt. We have enough funding to compete with the big players, like Hoenn Music Group. We lack their vast resources, but I promise we will never exploit artists for money. Everything we do is for fair treatment and protecting music from exploitation. We would love to have you join us."

Callan paused there, should Ciprina have any questions.

Callan thanked her again and Ciprina assured him that all of this was truly no trouble, because it wasn't. While she might've found herself a little busy at the end of the day she was used to hosting individuals such as himself. In fact, she really shined when she hosted major parties and social events. [break][break]

Back in Sinnoh it was considered quite the 'treat' to be invited to one of the events Ciprina Fisk was hosting. It was just one of the side skills she perfected in order to maintain the image of the Fisk family. It was easy control certain things in those settings as well. Hence why it became Ciprina's job to distract and misdirect from an early age. [break][break]

"I run a music and media startup called Teravolt. We have enough funding to compete with the big players, like Hoenn Music Group. Callan's voice pulled her from her thoughts and brought her back to reality. Ciprina placed a small hand on her chest as she smiled. "Oh! I'm flattered thank you." her tone was light and the slight flush to her cheek suggested she truly was flattered and taken by slight surprise. But then her gaze fell to her lap where she now rested her hands. [break][break]

"But, I'm sure you can understand my hesitation a bit." She said softly. "It's not that I don't trust you, your track record speaks for itself. And the mission statement for your group sounds quite lovely it's just," she paused as she weight her words for a moment. Tell a bit of the truth her should seem credible, so she continued. "As a Fisk I can't just blindly agree to every shiny and good sounding thing, I hope you understand." she said as she reached out to lightly place a hand on his own. [break][break]

"But this isn't a rejection. Rather, tell me some more about your plans and what you would be looking for me to do if I join." She said with a knowing smile. After all, she would be free on the market soon. As a Fisk she could realistically sign to any record label she wished, and still enjoy good benefits.[break][break]

Her family's name was just that powerful. So other than creative freedom, what would be in it for her to agree? Callan said it herself, her name alone would help to solve the little issue they currently have with getting more resources and fame under their belt. She was sure he would know what she meant by all of this.

Callan pauses as she provides her question. "I don't like the music industry." Callan admits.

"It's bloated, and corruption floods the top of the chain and floats its way down. It manipulates artists who dream of making it big on the stage and skews them for the purposes of making money or degrades them into objects in the public eye." He pauses, looking briefly at the champagne he had been sipping, he takes a second sip.

"Having you in the company would legitimize a lot of our claims. Right now, we're under the radar, ready to be picked apart like a Talonflame hunting a Wurmple." Callan pauses, "Having you in the company... would make them think twice. Having the Fisk name would be a deterrent in itself. Perhaps I am thinking about this with political tact, but..."

Callan's eyes turn towards her, "I was hoping you might be willing to give it a chance. Outside of your talents and music, perhaps you may be interested in leveraging your name for the betterment of the music industry. I doubt my contract is worth much to you, but I will make you shine a star, and we'll never treat you as a disposable artist."
